Blended Working Online Course

This online course is designed to introduce participants to the concept of Blended Working. Through course readings, written exercises, and hands-on practice, you will explore:

  • How, when, where, and for how long you work at your best
  • What types of activities work best for you to blend into your workday
  • How to create a sustainable Blended Working lifestyle that allows you to be effective and efficient in your job while enabling you to also incorporate some of the things you want, need, and like to do into your workday. 

Course Format

This course is offered as a 4-module, self-paced, independent learning course with an online discussion session for each module. We suggest allowing 1-2 weeks between modules. 


Each module includes:

  • Required reading (approximately 1 hour per module)
  • Written exercises
  • Hands-on skill building activities
  • A 30-minute online discussion to review the readings, exercises, and activities, and how to apply the concepts into participants' lives. (Note: The duration of discussion sessions will increase with group size)
  • Links to additional strategies and resources

Dates

The course can be started anytime. Modules are completed at your own pace. 

Class Size

The course can be completed individually or as a group. Discounts are available for couples and groups.

Who Should Take This Course?

This course is designed for anyone who has some degree of flexibility in their workdays in terms of when and where they are able to do their work. For example:

  • People with the ability to work from home or another off-site location
  • People who have flexibility with regards to the timing and duration of their work breaks
  • People who have flexibility in when they can start and finish their workday
  • Independent contractors who set their own work hours
  • Part-time workers who want to make better use of the rest of their day

Course Instructor: James Galipeau, Ph.D.

James has a Master’s Degree in Sport Psychology and a Doctorate in Education. He has worked with athletes and teams at various levels on topics such as improving focus, goal-setting, pre-performance planning, effective communication, and teamwork. He has also conducted research on how participants in small groups learn and work together. Dr. Galipeau currently works as an independent contractor in the publishing industry and has lived a Blended Working lifestyle for more than 15 years. He also regularly engages in Flipped Workdays and embarks on Digital Nomad Adventures (Check out his blog). In addition, James is a world-class adventure racer and has competed in 7 Adventure Racing World Championships.
