Blended Working is an umbrella term for describing non-traditional work arrangements, such as flextime and telecommuting. It essentially involves flexibility in when and where a person does their work, in an effort to improve the outcomes for both workers and the companies they work for. Similar types of “blending” are also happening in other fields, such as Blended Learning in Education (leveraging technology to combine face-to-face learning with distributed learning) and Blended Care in Healthcare (combining face-to-face and online treatment). These "blended" experiences demonstrate how we can leverage information and communications technology to achieve the goal of a better experience and outcome for everyone involved.
At Blended Working Adventures, we put the concept of Blended Working front and center in creating a more balanced and natural flow between our jobs and the rest of our lives. But we also take a broader view of the "work" aspect of Blended Working, reflecting the fact that employee's lives don't stop while they are at their job. In particular, we focus on the potential for Blended Working strategies to provide an opportunity for employees to take better care of their physical and mental health - an important part of what we call their "Life's Work".
